This project will protect, preserve and share the world’s largest collection of wisdom on the nature of mind. This precious knowledge base has been developed and perfected by Bon and Buddhist Indo-Tibetan meditation practitioners during the last 18,000 years but is now at great risk of being lost within its original setting.
The Pointing Out the Great Way Foundation will provide the necessary support and infrastructure to preserve and sustain this critical knowledge by revitalizing these indigenous Tibetan teachings and practices in Nepal but will also be sharing these critical teachings with the world at large. The first phase of our project consists of creating:
• A main temple and living space for 100 monks with a dormitory and school for 100 children;
• A cultural and spiritual center supporting the practices and beliefs of the local community;
• A source of social and economic sustainability for the region.
A second phase of the project will focus on an expanded living space for the nuns and a guest house so that practitioners living outside of the area can practice directly with advanced practitioners, monks and nuns.
